Creating a Worm Farm & Working with Worms

Join us as we learn how to create our own worm farm and how to use their castings in your garden!
Over 2000 years ago Aristotle likened earthworms to the intestines of the earth with magician like abilities to transform minerals into plant available food.
Worm casts and their liquid extracts are one of the best and easiest to produce inputs for your vegetable garden. Whether it’s a ‘GOBY’(go out & buy) or a DIY…a balcony or backyard… the principles of worm farming are the same. You’ll be applying these to set up and manage a range of systems that you’ll be able to do at home.
Meet the Master Gardener, Dan

He has been pushing the ‘wheelbarrow’ of school & community gardens, community art, Landcare action programs, and social enterprise initiatives to engage people in community-driven cultural growth. Dan is award winning for the "Living Classroom" program, and his love of the land is palpable.
Inspired by fun, creative & participatory group processes and the effectiveness of learning by doing, Dan has been engaging culturally diverse groups in Permaculture since 2003.
